Steve is the Managing Director of Carousel Calendars. He first started in the industry as a print apprentice 38 years ago, and has worked in publishing and printing ever since.
He is married and has two grown-up children, Josh and Benny. He shares a smallholding, where he grows his own vegetables. He is a keen runner, as well as particularly enjoying walking and climbing up mountains, and skiing down them.
Andy has been involved within the National Accounts arena for well over 25 years and, since joining the Otter House Group back in 2003, he has helped to significantly develop the National Accounts portfolio within Carousel Calendars.
Andy not only manages the National Accounts team, but also involves himself in the day-to-day operations of his own portfolio of major accounts, ensuring that he continues his close association in the development and improvement of the Carousel Calendars supply chain.
Simon has been involved in sales since he left school in 1987 and has spent the last 15 years managing National Accounts with a focus on licensed products. Having moved up from Sales Territory Management via Key Account Management, he has a diverse range of experience. During his time in sales he has dealt with independent retailers through to some of the UK’s biggest chains. He works closely with his colleagues at Carousel Calendars to ensure that retailers get the right licences and designs for their consumers every season.
When Simon is not working or spending time with his young daughter, he likes to "rip it up" windsurfing around the UK coastline.
Cheryl has been involved in customer service for over 42 years, initially completing 21 years of service as Checkout Manager for Sainsbury’s. 10 years in telesales followed, as Regional Accounts Manager for an electrical wholesaler, which worked very well for her as her husband, Richard, is also an Electrician. Cheryl joined the calendar industry over ten years ago and became Telesales & Account Manager when Otter House acquired Jarrold Calendars. For the last four years she has also been looking after Export Clients and Licensor requirements.
She enjoys long walks with both her 1 year-old chocolate Labrador and 5 -year-old Pug, and also loves gardening, cooking and summer holidays.
As the sale administrator for Carousel Calendars, Elle's role includes speaking to customers and potential customers on the telephone and via email, building and maintaining trust and reliability so that they may return year after year. She also takes orders and supplies images as required. She has twenty years customer experience, has completed a business studies course at college, and is also a certified hairdresser.
In her spare time, Elle enjoys walking and travelling, gardening, arts and crafts, and going to gigs and listening to music.
Angie’s role sees her coordinating the admin and logistics of many of the major national accounts. Amongst her previous roles, she has worked for an agricultural machinery company, a European Info Centre and a firework company, before joining the Group in 2008, and Carousel in 2011.
She holds a degree in French and Spanish, which saw her living in Madrid for a year, and her hobbies include singing in a choir, walking and reading – but she has also done skydiving, abseiling, paragliding and flown a plane!
Claire works as the National Accounts Coordinator for Carousel Calendars, coordinating the logistics and and administration for some of the national accounts. After studying for a degree in Early Childhood Studies, she went straight into working in administration roles, and joined the group 11 years ago.
Much of her spare time is currently taken up looking after her toddler, but in any free time that she has, she enjoys spinning classes and the odd bit of baking.
Ky's role at Carousel Calendars sees him looking after key accounts both in and out of office, looking after the administration involved in telesales, reports, and some export accounts. He originally joined Otter House back in 2004 as a sales administrator, before eventually moving to Carousel.
Ky's interests include pasta, cheese and wine! And spending time with his daughter Olivia.
As an office administrator, Charlotte works with the accounts and financial teams, undertaking tasks such as logging bank payments, invoicing, sending out statements, assisting with quarterly royalties and the monthly payment run, and ordering supplies for the office.
Charlotte's personal hobbies include running and keeping fit, and exploring different beaches and sightseeing.
Gillian is the Financial Controller for Vista Stationery and Print, a position she has held since 2012. Before her time at Carousel Calendars, as a Chartered Accountant she has also worked in International Tax consultancy and in Finance Director and Controller roles.
In her spare time, she has achieved a black belt in Aikido, and she practises Qigong and sword katas in her back garden!
Moses works closely with Gillian to assist with daily financial and administration work in the accounts department, utilising over 20 years of working experience in this area.
In his spare time, Moses enjoys playing table tennis and badminton, as well as watching sports such as football, tennis, basketball and athletics. He also enjoys a spot of gardening.
Martin has over 15 years of extensive experience working within sales, licensing and marketing for the dated, stationery and gift market. Martin is responsible for all licensing activity, acquisition, financials, contracts, brand and product development for both Carousel Calendars and Otter House Card & Gift, working with a portfolio of over 100 licensed brands and key partners within the media, character, lifestyle, charity and celebrity sectors.
Martin transferred to Otter House when they acquired Jarrold Calendars in 2010. Having initially graduated in Surveying from Nottingham Trent University, Martin then served in the Armed Forces for nine years, finishing as Operations Director with the Household Cavalry Armoured Regiment.
Juliet works on Carousel's own published and bespoke customer titles, liaising with suppliers and managing production costs, specifications and schedules of orders from design concept through to delivery. She has previously worked in the publishing industry for over 15 years, having several roles within the book printing industry.
She enjoys spending time with her young family, helping with various local events, walking, running, horse riding, dabbling at painting pet portraits, and making wedding and birthday cakes for friends and family.
Vicky joined Carousel Calendars in February 2018. Previously, she worked for the sister company, Calendar Club where she worked as part of the Buying Team for 8 years. After graduating from University with a Degree In Business Studies she joined a German electronics company and was part of their Field Sales Team. With experience of both Sales and Buying she now orders and manages stock levels for the six million products that Carousel distributes each year.
Her free time is spent with her two teenage children, ferrying them to and from various sporting events, and she recently took up running purely so she feels less guilty about having the occasional glass of wine…
Brian has over 20 years of experience in graphic design and has been working in the calendar industry for over nine years, having previously run the design department for Infocado. After leaving college, Brian gained his technical experience by working for a repro company, producing work for newspapers, magazines and book publishers, and later moving the company into design.
Over the years of working with Infocado and Carousel Calendars, Brian has seen a steady growth, starting with four calendars and now producing well over six hundred dated products per season.
Lexie works as the Senior Photographic Administrator, undertaking tasks such as photo selection, contacting photographers and updating administration databases. She has a keen passion for photography as she also runs two businesses, one for wildlife photography and the other for weddings and portraits. Other past work experience includes working with owls in conservation.
Her hobbies include lots of outdoor activities, such as climbing, kayaking, walking and travelling.
Martin is the Photographic Administrator, helping with photo selection, photographer contact and maintaining the databases. His previous roles have included working as a photographer, and image retoucher for sports ecommerce. His personal interests also involve photography, capturing yoga and food images in his spare time, as well as volunteering for Amnesty International, curating photo exhibitions, and producing graphic design content.
Martin loves live music, camping and walking, and is a bad surfer but a great cook.
Nicola deals with all the editorial tasks for Carousel Calendars, the main part of which is proofreading all of the products printed by the company, and writing content for many of the titles. Her background includes SEO, social media and online marketing, stemming from a degree in English and a Masters in Creative Writing.
She enjoys reading, writing, video games, gardening, the occasional attempt at knitting and crochet, and building up a vast store of random facts from the many things she has to research. And dinosaurs.
Richard is a Product Manager/Senior Designer, dealing particularly with the exclusive range of titles for leading charities, artists and brands, such as the National Trust, RNLI, Madeleine Floyd and the RSPB. His work history involves over 20 years of senior designer and director roles for various design companies before joining Carousel Calendars.
His interests include gardening, running, cycling and sports and enjoying the odd beer!
Kerri is a Graphic Designer, specialising particularly in photography, Photoshop and Lightroom. During her time studying graphic design and photography at college she also ran her own club events, designing all the marketing material for these. Her experience spans 12 years in the industry, having also worked in package design, as well as for two book and magazine publishers, before joining Carousel Calendars.
Her interests include DJing, kayaking and swimming, and long walks with her German Shepherd, Mazey.
Matt has worked as a Graphic Designer for over 25 years now, work varying from TV, print, signwriting, finance and books before settling down at Carousel Calendars. He took time out recently to train with National Trust rangers before becoming a tree surgeon but has found himself back in the design environment again. Often referred to as the ‘font master’ due to his ability to name any font placed in front of him.
Being a father of four boys, during his limited spare time Matt enjoys Dartmoor, gardening, reading, walking their Border Collie Monty, Canadian canoe trips and the occasional cider.
Dave’s skills encompass all forms of design, and with his methodical approach and ability to quickly digest new information, he is often the go-to person when someone needs to learn a new skill. His work history includes bar work, before becoming self-taught in graphic design and ultimately joining Carousel Calendars’ Production team.
He has uncanny abilities with Sudoku puzzles and goes by the nickname ‘Dragon’.
Charlotte has worked as a Graphic Designer since graduating from a BA Hons Graphic Communications & Typography degree in 2016. Charlotte joined Carousel Calendars shortly after returning to Exeter, having previously lived in Spain where she worked as a lead designer for a big publisher on the island of Ibiza. Her specialities include illustration, image manipulation/creation and photoshop.
Her interests include backpacking travel, hiking, singing and spicy food… with a few cheeky Gins here and there!
Carl is a Graphic Designer who also specialises in photography and image editing. Originally from Devon, he has worked as a designer and photographer for a wide range of businesses in Devon, Bristol, London and abroad, before returning to join Carousel.
Outside of work Carl loves to travel abroad with his camera whenever possible, and also enjoys playing football, cycling and learning languages.
